The Differences between HORROR and THRILLER films

A Horror is defined as: anything that causes such a feeling: killing, looting, and other horrors of war.

where as

A Thriller is defined as: an exciting, suspenseful play or story, especially a mystery story.

A thriller movie such as 'Taken' contains the potential of death as well a suspense build up. The audience are allowed to know the full story before something thrilling occurs.
However
A horror movie like SAW is much more bloody and gory and not for the faint hearted

most Thriller movies have an age certificate of 15

where as

Most Horror movies have an age certificate of 18
