"Is a term to describe the visual referencing between films. Quite literally, films 'borrow' from each other, and you may recognise certain camera angles, aspects of mise en scene, snippets of sound or methods of editing on some films that you have seen in others".
What interests me about Intertextuality is that it is a good way in which you can incoorparte ideas that have been already used in previous film. I really like how Alfred's Hitchcock's Psycho shower scene has been used in lots of suspenseful movies such as: What Lies Beneath, Fatal Attractions, The Stepfather, Succubus. The all use various techniques from the shower scene such as: the bathroom setting, noises of the water running, white shower curtains, birdseye view the bath tub and a woman bein the victim of a bloody murder from a kitchen knife.
